I went to a "well" visit last month and would have done well to have read your list of suggestions before going. A "well" visit is the new name for a physical through Medicare, so it is longer than the 15 minutes and you have to schedule way ahead. I'm fortunate to have discovered an acupuncturist who spends as much time as needed with me. I've come to see my GP as a source for renewed meds, labs, and referrals. This is indeed a sad state of affairs, isn't it!
Hope you are well, Alexandra, and thanks for your comment and commiseration. Yes, you are fortunate to have found a great acupuncturist; I'm so curious about what they are helping with?
Hi! Yes, it's a sad state of affairs regarding our healthcare system. I often go with Alan to his doctor appointments and luckily for him, he always has a detailed list of his symptoms, medications, etc. -- although these days all the meds are in their system already. I don't rely on doctors much -- hadn't been to a doctor for several years until recently when Alan wanted me to at least get a blood test. I did and that's fine. I have not been on medications ever and don't plan to. As you're probably aware during our Zoom talk several years ago, I don't follow mainstream practices. But, I do respect anyone who does -- Alan does and I understand that. You always write a great newsletter and I enjoy reading them. I hope you and your family are well and I would love to get together again - possibly during the summer. :)
You are so fortunate that your health is so good...clearly whatever you are doing is working for you! Thanks for reading, we'd love to see you soon. Best to your Alan.
